If you're considering an electric vehicle for your commutes around Brockton, Randolph, or Stoughton, MA, you may wonder about the tax credit you'll receive. It's a great perk to go along with your efficient vehicle, and we'll help explain it below.

Read on to discover what amount you could receive. Then, discover what EV models are in stock here at Nissan 24!

How The Electric Vehicle Tax Credit Works

The electric vehicle tax credit can be applied to up to $7,500 of your federal income tax amount. This credit includes not only new fully electric vehicles, but also new plug-in hybrids that were purchased after 2010.

The amount you receive will differ from vehicle to vehicle because the battery power is the determining factor. For example, for Nissan specifically, the LEAF is eligible for the full $7,500 credit.

The credit is nonrefundable and only applies for the year in which you bought the vehicle. It's also important to note that it can only be used by the original purchaser of the car, so a used EV won't come with this benefit.

Additionally, the EV tax credit is only available for the first 200,000 electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles sold by the manufacturer. If you have your eye on one, it's best to decide soon to take full advantage of this offer!
